Oh Sausalito! My "home away from home" and happy place in the van :)
City Path: Mill Valley Sausalito Path
Location: Dunphy Park (or start anywhere along the water in downtown Sausalito)
The Work: 7 miles flat out and back Google Maps
Parking: Free Parking Lot
Bathrooms √: Dunphy Park has got it going on!
This is my day-to-day go-to run, Greycie walk, bike, you name it! You can start anywhere along the Bridgeway. The path doesn't officially start until you get to Mike's Bikes or the Northbound freeway entrance. You'll see loads of bikers coming and going from San Francisco or Tiburon. There are lots of cool birds, cute houseboats, and friendly people along the path!

Trail Run/Hike: Alta Trail
Location: Alta Trailhead, Marin City
The Work: 4.7 mile out and back with 633ft gain, All Trails Link
Parking: Trailhead/Street Parking
Bathrooms 👎: None Unfortunately, so go before you head out or it's the bush!
This trail is great if you want to get views of Sausalito from up high! Starting at Alta Trailhead, the trail is a dirt path that gradually inclines to the top of a series of trail systems in the Marin Headlands. I start here, because it is close to my friends house and really close to downtown Sausalito. It is great for trail running, walk/hiking, mountain biking. There are a lot of people walking their dogs from this trailhead, but keep in mind that once you get into the main system of trails in the Marin Headlands, many of those trails are not dog friendly. Just check out your handy app, All Trails.
